Note uniformly pale creamy-buff plumage with wing-points slightly paler still. Proportions relatively delicate compared with Glaucous Gull - bill short (50% - 70% of length of head) and extension of primaries beyond tip of tail exceeds length of bill. Bill-pattern, with sharply-defined black-tip occupying only distal third, is more typical of second-winter but uniformly cream primaries and dark eye indicate first-winter.
