Gallery: Gulls in the Midlands

(Photos of gulls from the West Midlands Region and North Oxfordshire)

A gallery of images of selected forms is available from the menu below. The images do not purport always to be pin-sharp portraits nor highly photogenic images. Most have been taken at long range ('digiscoped'), sometimes through wire fencing at landfill sites or in failing light at pre-roost assemblies at reservoirs and gravel-pits. They are selected to illustrate features of interest to gull-enthusiasts, to illustrate typical and atypical individuals, the range of variation, the progress of moult, or simply 'record shots' of interest to local gull-watchers who know the localities concerned.  Images have been optimised for the web but will require patience if downloading on a slow link.

All images are copyright of the individual photographers credited by each photograph.
